What One Builder and His AI Assistant Shipped

Jason Nutt · Front-end developer, support & solutions engineer, founder of TruVINE — the production record behind this portfolio.

Panel 1

The Cold Open

From a simple Bible reader to a production studio
Jason's studio in one picture: Jason as an animated builder in a badge-covered jacket, arms wide at a workbench with a laptop, film gear and a clapperboard, a red bicycle with a big gold bow beside him, vineyard rows and three crosses on the hill behind
The operation today — the films, the books, the badges, and one very important bicycle.

“It started as a simple Bible reader…” It didn’t stay simple. Working solo, after hours, I — together with Judah, my AI assistant — built it into a complete production operation: a 78-book Bible app with a complete audio Bible, an animated film studio run on a locked character system, a YouTube channel with an automation layer, and a merch store. This page is the record: what shipped, how it was made, and the standard it was held to.

The Flagship

Word of God Risen — designed, built & operated solo
Word of God Risen hero art — three crosses over vineyard rows at sunrise
Word of God Risen — a production Bible web app, live on Vercel: all 78 books in WEB + KJV, every book carrying its own designed cover, a complete 1,503-chapter audio Bible, and roughly 96,000 cross-references across 10,000 verses. Built with Next.js, React & TypeScript; Search Console verified with a 1,678-URL sitemap; an accessibility standard (alt text, aria labels, visible focus, sane contrast) applied across the app.

Panel 3

The Cast

Character packages — designed once, locked
The animated Twelve gathered around Jesus on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, a fishing boat and olive tree behind them, every disciple's face distinct
The whole crew, lakeside. Jesus in the middle, the Twelve around Him — fishermen, a tax collector, a zealot. Every face designed on purpose; nobody copy-pasted.
Portrait of the animated Jesus — long brown hair, kind eyes, an ordinary first-century Galilean face, gentle smile
Jesus. One face — ordinary, kind, unglamorous, the way Isaiah described — and it never changes, film to film.
Peter's trading card from the Mark character package — Peter holding a fish, with his character stats and story printed on the card
Peter’s trading card. Every cast member ships with sheets, portraits and cards.
Mary Magdalene's trading card from the Mark character package — her portrait with her character details printed on the card
Mary Magdalene. A complete package per character, not a single hero image.

Seventeen character builds in the Mark package: Jesus, the Twelve, Mary His mother, Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, Pilate. The rule: a character is designed once, locked, and stays the same face in every film, forever. Each book gets a complete character package on this template — sheets, trading cards, portraits, group shots — so a multi-film series never drifts.

Panel 4

The Family Package

The same system, applied to real people

For my son Jude’s birthday film, the cast was my own family — built as locked characters under the same system. These are the actual canonical portraits the film is generated from:

Dad's canonical portrait — full-length animated Jason: buzz-cut hair with grey temples, purple glasses, short beard grey at the chin, white V-neck tee, the tribal tattoo on his upper left arm
Jason — “Dad”
Britney's canonical portrait, version 12 — long dark-brown wavy hair with blonde balayage, almond hazel eyes, green Seahawks-logo cap and a navy shirt with the hawk-head mandala
Britney — v12, approved
Jude's canonical portrait — full-length animated Jude at fifteen, tall and lean, dark curly hair, easy grin, casual tee and shorts
Jude — at fifteen
Gavin's canonical portrait — animated Gavin with loose wavy hair, lean and athletic, the shortest of the three and head coach of the basketball team at thirteen
Gavin — head coach at 13
Jude's real game jersey laid out — bright Action Green Seattle Seahawks jersey with navy trim and the big hawk-head logo on the chest
The real jersey. Jude’s actual game shirt. The film wears the real kit, or it doesn’t wear one.
The real flag belt in play — bright green Franklin flags at a player's waist, the flags printed with the league's SUBWAY FLAG mark
The real flags. League-issue Franklin belt — small details, documented and matched.
Jason's approved volleyball look in a film frame — the real red polo with its little shield on the chest, worn on game day
Wardrobe file. One of 18 real outfits on file; the animated cast wears only clothes the real people own.
How “locked” works — every character carries a written locks list: for Jason, buzz-cut hair thin on top with grey at the temples · purple glasses · short beard, grey at the chin · a slim nose with a subtle once-broken bend · a dark tribal tattoo on the upper left arm and nowhere else. Measurements are in the file too — Jude stands about an inch taller than his dad now, and Gavin is the shortest of the three. Once a lock is written, nobody improvises: not the director, not the assistant, not the generator. Britney’s portrait took twelve documented versions to land — versioned, reviewed, approved. Likeness, treated as QA.
Panel 5

The Director’s Gate

The QA discipline I authored — how a scene earns its place

The Director’s Pass

Every scene is reviewed against the story it has to tell — notes taken in plain language.

The Evidence

Suspected defects are proven, not debated — frame-by-frame sampling, waveform and loudness analysis.

The Verdict

Confirmed or not, in writing, with the evidence frames attached. The written record is the spec.

The Remake

Failures are banked with retake briefs and rebuilt from the package. Nothing ships that hasn’t passed.

“Characters from the package lead, and the scene follows them — not the other way around.”

The Package Leads — studio law, codified in the production standard

Frame from a review cut of the flag-football scene: a dark-haired boy in a rust-red shirt grabs at the green flag on Jude's belt
Frame one: a boy reaches for Jude’s flag. Remember this player.
Frame half a second later from the same take: a blonde girl in the same rust-red top and the same blue glove chases Jude for the flag
Half a second later: a different player — same shirt, same blue glove. He passed behind Jude and came out somebody else.

Case study. A review cut shipped an identity morph — hidden behind the lead character, invisible to still-frame checks. Review caught it by eye; dense frame sampling proved it; the verdict was written with evidence frames; and the segment was scrapped and rebuilt fresh from the family package. The lesson became a gate: identity continuity is audited in motion, including through occlusions — on every scene, in every production since.

The Films

Output — one live, one premiering October 14, 2026
The full animated cast of the Gospel of Mark gathered around Jesus by the Sea of Galilee at golden hour
The Gospel of Mark — the pilot animated film, live on YouTube: Teddy narrates the text word-for-word (WEB) while the cast acts it out. John is next, then Genesis.
Still from Jude's birthday film: Dad beaming from the bench as Jude, in his number 13 jersey, celebrates a volleyball championship with his team
Jude’s 15th-birthday film — one picture, three voice versions (Teddy, Dad, and a hybrid), premiering October 14, 2026 — with a full from-scratch rebuild (FINAL5) rising behind it under the Gate.

Role Fit

Where this points
Still from Jude's birthday film: Jude grinning over his new bicycle in the driveway at golden hour while his dad beams beside him
Why the standard is the standard — a father’s film has to be true, frame by frame.

The goal was never just a better job. It’s a living that provides for my family without costing me my family — a provider, and present.

First choice: grow where I’m planted. And if the door opens elsewhere, the same builder walks through it — support roots, a shipped flagship, and a QA standard of my own authorship.

Judah's character portrait from the package — brown hair, short beard, green shirt and a canvas builder's apron
Judah. The AI assistant in every panel of this record — coach, builder, QA bench. He has a character sheet too.

One honest note about method: everything here was built by one man directing and one AI assistant building — under written rules, with the human holding the verdict on every frame. That’s not a shortcut story. It’s a direction-and-discipline story: taste, standards, and follow-through, amplified.

It’s also, plainly, my faith at work. TruVINE is an extension of what I believe — and the standard on this page is what “above and beyond” looks like when the work is done for Jesus first and an employer second.

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name.”

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV)

Faithfulness over numbers — one seed planted a day is enough.
